The Illinois Public Health Association is Illinois' oldest and largest voluntary organization devoted exclusively to matters of public health. Its mission is to serve as a professional society for people engaged or interested in public health who want to lead and advance public health practice. Senator Koehler was awarded the association's Legislator of the Year Award for his outstanding commitment to improving Illinois' public health policy.
